Dade Community Foundation was created in 1967 as Greater Miami's permanent philanthropic endowment. A nonprofit tax-exempt organization, the Foundation manages funds to support the emerging charitable needs of Miami-Dade County. For 40 years, the Foundation has served individuals, families, corporations, private foundations, and charitable organizations by providing information on the benefits and options of philanthropy. We offer insight into community priorities, and supply a stable, tax-advantaged financial structure to maximize donations and to assure their viability in perpetuity.
Dade Community Foundation puts the value of local people into action by pooling funds from donors and making grants focused on concrete programming for sound purposes. Our professional staff can assist donors and assure effective grant making. The Foundation's Board of Governors identifies local emerging issues and targets gaps in community services that need to be addressed. Our Board of Governors establishes the overall investment policy and monitors the performance of the financial institutions. Several banks, trust companies, and money managers safeguard and invest Foundation funds and our accounts are audited annually by an independent firm. Dade Community Foundation gives its donors permanence, accountability, flexibility and expertise.
